Pumpkin Muffins

We spent last weekend in Winchester with some family.  I came home with a couple of amazing recipes and an awesome new camera!  Sharon had made pumpkin muffins on Sunday so I decided to make some to take to work on Halloween.  It was also a good excuse to take pictures for the blog :)  I'm not taking credit for the recipe - I'm not sure what the actual source is though!

The recipe for Pumpkin Muffins:

1 1/2 teaspoons Pumpkin Pie Spice
1 can of pure pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
1 box of Spice Cake mix

Bake in muffin tins (or mini muffin tins as we did) according to the time on the cake mix box.

and....enjoy :)

If you prefer to make them a little less healthy, a little cream cheese frosting on top is pretty yummy also!

My First Post!

I have always thought about starting a blog but didn't think I had that much to post about.  I love visiting other blogs to gather ideas for cooking, crafts and home decor ideas.  I finally decided that's exactly what I would blog about.  I just got married in June and we have started several projects around the house to make it "ours."  I also love to scrapbook and make jewelry, so I will probably have a wide array of post topics!

I thought for the first post, I would show you our fall decor outside the house.

A close-up of my mums...I thought I was buying orange and white in honor of my Texas Longhorns.  Surprise...if I read the label I would have discovered that they were purple.

I found a similar black post idea on Pinterest and showed it to my dad.  He took that idea and built his own version.  I absolutely love it and plan to change out the sign for each season and holiday.  I found the metal wreath at Michael's.  The wreath is the first one I ever made for the house last year.

So, that's the fall decorations outside of Butler Castle!  Pictures from our first major projects inside to follow soon :-)
