December...finally! This month was pretty eventful in many ways!
We started out the month taking Colin's 10 month pictures (a little late) and going to a local tree farm with Heather & Phil so I could take some pictures for them. That turned into an adventure when the Durango got stuck on a landscaping timber...thankfully there was no damage but it wasn't looking good for a little while! That was the first eventful moment.
I'm in love with this outfit and these pictures!
The second eventful day happened on December 13th, my dad had to have emergency surgery to remove his gall bladder and a hernia. He ended up staying overnight after the surgery and we were at their house when he came home the next day. I wish I had videoed that....Colin was SUPER excited. he was smiling and waving like he hadn't seen him in weeks.
Colin and I were in the Christmas play at church...he was a lamb and I was a shepherd along with Heather and Leora.
bet you didn't know shepherds wore leopard print shoes ;-)
Justin, Colin and myself were all dressed in matching outfits. We had plans to take pictures after church but Colin had a meltdown and we left after the play, before church was even over. We need to wear the outfits again for those pictures!
The Monday before Christmas, we had the blood work done to find out what allergies Colin had. When the doctor called with the results, we were shocked...it was a long list. We have to see an allergist to figure out a game plan.
On Christmas Eve, I finally found Colin's Little People Nativity so he got to play with that and I told him the nativity story.
Christmas morning, Santa came when Colin got up. He left a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe and Colin was very happy with that!
Justin's mom, my parents and my grandma all came over for breakfast and to open gifts. About this time, things started going downhill for Colin. I noticed he was feeling warm and when I took his temperature it was around 100. We gave him some Tylenol and he was being extra clingy to me. Typically he will still go to my dad but he wouldn't even go to him which spoke volumes about how he felt. We finally got him to take a nap and everyone else opened their gifts. Once he woke up, he sat in my lap and we opened his gifts. He still wasn't feeling well and he hated the wrapping paper being torn.
Justin's mom got him a miniature red recliner like Justin's big one!
You can see by the yawn that he just wants to nap (just like Mommy did the year before)
After his nap, they did the Mickey Mouse Hot Dog dance to help him start smiling!
Opening presents but staying close to Mommy!
After presents, we had lunch.
We also got some family pictures
With Justin's mom
I really think his not feeling good was due to teething...he was constantly chewing on a finger.
With great grandma
with Granddad and Grandma.
with Mommy & Daddy
After everyone left, he fell asleep in my arms and slept for hours. He typically doesn't just fall asleep like that so he still wasn't feeling very good. We had a good Christmas, but wished he had felt a little better. I am sure next year he will enjoy every second of the holiday!
Justin had to work New Year's Eve and New Year's Day so there aren't any pictures.
2014 brought us so many great memories - we can't wait to see what 2015 holds for our family!
